The two broad food-delivery platforms to check first are Wolt and Bolt Food. Both cover restaurant and retail orders, but availability is address-specific. Wolt exposes separate Malta and Gozo areas; Bolt tells customers to enter their address and also promotes food delivery in Gozo.

Coverage and app choice

Open Wolt Malta or Bolt Food, enter the exact delivery address and compare the same type of meal. A platform operating “in Gozo” does not mean every village, restaurant or time slot is covered. Weather, demand and courier supply can alter the live radius.

Use restaurant-direct delivery when the venue offers it and the price or allergy conversation is clearer. Use a platform when tracking, address discovery and in-app support are more valuable.

Compare the final checkout, not the banner

The food subtotal may be joined by a delivery fee, small-order fee, service or platform fee and optional tip. Promotions can require a minimum basket or membership. Bolt’s own help says delivery and small-order fees may be added; its membership page shows that “free delivery” has eligibility and fee-cap conditions. Wolt+ benefits and eligible venues can also change.

Build the basket on both apps and compare the final total before payment. Check whether menu prices differ from collection and whether substitutions are allowed for groceries.

Wrong, late, missing or allergy-sensitive orders

Photograph the bag, receipt, seals and incorrect items immediately. Keep the packaging and report through the order’s in-app support rather than a generic social account. State the remedy requested—replacement, refund or missing-item credit—and save the case number.

For an allergy, contact the restaurant before ordering. App filters and notes do not guarantee ingredient or cross-contact control. If food appears unsafe, do not eat it; report the issue through support and the appropriate public-health route if necessary. The restaurant prepares the food, while the platform handles the order and courier channel, so the correct contact can differ by problem.
